Purple Smoke

Where does the time go? Cant believe months have past since my last post. But alas no more, I'm back in blogging mode.

I wanted to do something a bit different for this look. I've been seeing this technique a lot lately and decided I'd give it a try. It's that in which a darker colour is used on the inner lid as opposed to the usual light colour. Do enjoy :)

MAC Mineralize blush Ring of Saturn: Review/Swatches

Hi everyone, It's been a while(I feel like I always say this) but anyway, just sharing my one and only purchase from MAC's heavenly creatures collection. Initially I decided I wouldn't be getting anything from this collection as I've been utilizing my money elsewhere. However no harm in just browsing right?, Well in this case a little since of course I ended up with this.

The colors as described by MAC are terracotta and gold melange

This blush is a gorgeous blend of color that can be worn anytime day, night, summer, fall etc. It is mineralized so it is shimmery (definitely not for those who aren't fans of shimmer) but what I love especially about this type of finish is that it's sheer to buildable in color. Also the fact that it is more than one color makes it multipurpose. The color in one swipe gives off a beautiful color in itself and but can be used individually as well (i.e gold melange  or terracotta worn alone)whether as a blush, highlight etc.

Sugarpill Heartbreaker Palette

REVIEW

Having purchased a few items from this brand in the past, I was more than excited when I heard they'd be releasing new colors. Now, as I've stated some while ago I've been wearing less colorful makeup in recent times but with summer upon us, I'm finally back in my color zone. I saw a couple online pics of Amy(Shrinkle) the owner of sugarpill rocking some these colors prior to its release and I just knew I couldn't pass this up.

If I could sum up the pay off of these shadows in one word it would be: Intense.

The quality is remarkable.  It has such a concentration of pigment that when applied it took no more than a couple swipes to get color to show up true to how it appears in package. This is something I always look for particularly with matte eyeshadows.

The Texture of these shadows is soft but not flaky. The longevity is also to be noted. I wore all colors for atleast 8 hours and they remained as vivid as when first applied(proceeding blog post will feature look).

At $34, this palette is fairly reasonable when you consider the following: Each shadow when bought individually costs $12 which amounts to $48 when bought separately, so you'll save a total of $14 if you buy as a palette. But, the fact remains even though it saves you more this way, atleast you still have the option (even if its cost more) to purchase separately if only one or a few of the colors are your fancy.

Overall this palette is perfect for the summer. The colors go well together to create bold, bright and fun looks for those who aren't afraid of color. Each color also stands out individually and can also be worn as such, so those of you who aren't as daring but still want to add a little pop of color to your look can do so by either using them to create colored liner on lash line or simply add along the water line.

The colors:

Acidberry: A matte chartreuse green or 'neon-lime' with a hint of shimmer

Velocity: A matte royal blue, deep yet bright in color. Also has a tinge of shimmer
2am: A matte berry purple with a slight sheen
Mochi: A matte seafoam blue with a slight sheen
